Miguel was born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, in southeastern Mexico, but when he was very young, his mother decided to move to Cancún, where he had his first encounters with the sea. At that time, he was not yet aware of the sense of freedom the ocean gave him, but he has very clear memories of his childhood: he would take a snorkeling set and, without hesitation, venture out into the sea to admire the wonders of the underwater world.
Years later, he made the most important decision of his life. With his savings in hand and without looking back, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery, ready to try new and challenging things. He had never had direct contact with diving before, but it had always intrigued him. When he finally had the chance to experience it, he knew he had found his passion. The sense of fulfillment he felt underwater was indescribable, completely beyond the ordinary. At that moment, he realized that diving was not just a passing experience but something he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
However, his financial situation was not ideal, so he looked for a way to keep going without giving up. That’s how he found a volunteer program that allowed him to get certified, progressing from Open Water to Dive Master. From that point on, his life changed completely. Diving has given him unforgettable experiences and moments, allowed him to be part of an amazing community that he now considers family, and has completely transformed his perspective on the world.
Today, more than just a job, diving is his way of life—an endless source of learning and happiness.
Miguel will assist you on the boat, helping you get ready for your dive, and when you return, he’ll have a snack, water, and everything you need for an unforgettable experience.
